Starting from “An unexpected journey” moving towards “Desolation of the Smaug” Peter Jackson was back with his 3rd and final entry of the hobbit series under the title “The Battle of The Five Armies”. The hobbit: The battle of the five armies hit the theatres in December. The hobbit will hit worldwide theaters on the 17th of December 2014. The screenplay was a combined effort of the team of 4 fantasy geniuses Fran Walsh, Guillermo Del toro, Philippa Boyens & the master himself Peter Jackson. The Final installment in the trilogy was lavishing and breath taking as it was a massive hit and a perfect end to the Tolkien’s world.
Now all the eyes are on the legendary Peter Jackson as to what will be his next project and what is it that he will bring for his fans and audiences. Peter Jackson seems to be already working on scripts that are far more small-scale than his recent work.
Since the 1980s, he has been working on low budgets, darkly quirky and generally odd horror/comedy fare. The Filmmaker then changed his pace and tried something more rich and prestigious projects. Since then he has been amazingly successful in delivering huge and prestigious hits such as Lord of the Rings, King Kong remake, three Hobbit films etc.
But now Peter Jackson wants to focus on something less in scale and scope which is more intimate and less spectacle-heavy in designs.
According to Screenrant.com Peter Jackson admits that he will love to take some time off but will never say no if there comes an opportunity to revisit Middle-Earth in future.
Peter Jackson said “If I had to start tomorrow, I would say no, because I definitely would appreciate a break to clear my head and get my little New Zealand stories done, which is where my passion and my heart is heading now. But ask me in two or three years, and I’d probably say yes. It would be hard to see another filmmaker go into this world, because I certainly have an emotional ownership of it.”
So Peter Jackson is all set to focus on true stories from New Zealand and try out his abilities on smaller budget movies. As we heard Peter Jackson saying that he will be making Tintin 2 just after he is done with The Hobbit films, so I think now is the time to see him working on Tintin 2 but as he is now talking about his New Zealand stories, maybe Tintin 2 is put on the background for now.
So all the fans who love to see Peter Jackson’s films, just get ready for some deep and intense stories with lesser fancy and heavy design films and some beautiful New Zealand stories. With all his mastering skills, he will just be amazing with everything and will not disappoint his fans.
